Real Tech Fund entered a strategic partnership with US-based deep tech VC Blue Bear Venture
Real Tech Global Fund managed by Real Tech Holdings Co., Ltd. (RTH) is excited to announce its investment in Blue Bear Ventures Fund II, a VC fund managed by Blue Bear Ventures (“BBV”) based in Silicon Valley. Through this strategic partnership, RTH will accelerate its support for its startups to enterthe US market, accessing the world’s top R&D and financing opportunities.
Overview of Blue Bear Ventures
Blue Bear Ventures (BBV) is a Silicon Valley based seed-stage VC firm that invests in Scientist Founders creating a healthier and more sustainable future. Founded in 2017, BBV spun off from the founding team’s prior work creating the CITRIS Foundry, the first deep tech accelerator at UC Berkeley. BBV launched its first fund (BBV Fund I) in 2018 and has built a portfolio of 20 of the most promising deep tech startups (including 2 exits) emerging from UC Berkeley, UC San Francisco, UC Santa Cruz, MIT, and Stanford. These science-driven startups will be crucial to the next wave of innovation and are set to disrupt stagnant trillion-dollar industries in healthcare, pharma, energy, and materials.

- Unnatural Products: Developing novel peptide-based therapeutics for the currently untreatable 70% of the human genome through data-driven algorithmic design

Purpose of investment
Over the past 2 years, Real Tech Global Fund has primarily invested in startups from Southeast Asia. Through our experience, we have come to understand that for our startups to grow rapidly, it is important to partner with Southeast Asian/Japanese corporates and also leverage the momentum built in the US deep tech ecosystem.
Given the synergies between BBV and RTH, we have developed strong alignment between the funds’ philosophies and investment strategies. RTH’s investment in BBV’s new fund (BBV Fund II) will help acceleratesupport for its current portfolio to identify R&D and financing opportunities in the US. This partnership also enables opportunities for BBV’s portfolio companies to access the rich deep tech ecosystem of corporates and researchers in Japan.
